CERN and the LHC (Large Hadron Collider)

Back

This video talks about the collimators used in the tunnel of the Large Hadron Collider or LHC. The LHC is the biggest supercollider in the world and is also be largest machine in the world. Engineers at CERN chose National Instruments products to control the collimators.

@tongg02 why you say we deserve to die? If it is because of global warming OK I understand, but if it's not...

what an amazing waste of human ingenuity not to mention time an money. If it creates a black hole...we deserve to die

@CERN

It is now safe to conduct the test using the Hadron Collider.

Get that thing fixed, and lets get the show on the road!!

World events have changed, and as such the problems previously associated with your projects testing, can now be safely put to rest.

Everyones got their own skills (and weaknesses), nothing wrong with not being academic (I only find something wrong with non academic people pretending to be academic).

I do this stuff for a living, and understand it quite throughly .. but, I also don't understand society at all, and have no friends at all .. so, yeah, we all have our strengths and weaknesses

These accidents are expected, and have occured during the construction of every new technology ever created in the past. That is why CERN already has replacement magnets and whatnot on hand, they were expecting such things to happen.

No new technology, in the history of mankind, has ever worked straight off the bat without faults and setbacks, its part of the course of dealing with a new machine that has never been in operation before
